Honolulu’s Becca Sakoda Signs with Digital Collectibles Platform

New site allows fans to support her and other athletes

  Chicago, IL, August 10, 2022 – Honolulu resident and University of Illinois volleyball player Becca Sakoda has jump into the NIL space by officially signing a ‘name, image, likeness’ (NIL) deal with NextName. NextName offers fans the opportunity to support her through the sale of her personal digital collectibles, also known as non-fungible tokens (NFT). The collectibles are robust media file with images, music, school logo, and playing statistics. Sakoda directly receives the majority of proceeds from the sale of her digital collectibles. Becca comes from ‘Iolani High School in Honolulu where she was a four-year standout, helping lead her team to the Hawaii D-I Volleyball State Championship in 2018 and a runner-up finish in 2017, as well as a first-place finish in the Ann Kang Invitational in 2017 and 2018. As a defensive specialist she saw action in nine matches and played in 13 sets as a true freshman, while totaling three digs on the season.
